Devcom grad tops Foreign Service Officer exam

Atty. Vida Soraya S. Verzosa, who graduated from UPLB with a degree in BS Development Communication in 2006, ranked first among the passers of the 2016 Foreign Service Officer Examinations with a composite rating of 86.93%.

This was announced by the Board of Foreign Service Examinations of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Only 26 out of the 527 examinees passed the examinations that were held from August 2016 to July 2017.

Atty. Verzosa majored in Educational Communication while studying at UPLB. During her stay at the College of Development Communication, she was an active member of the UPLB Jocks. She served as vice chairperson from 2000-2001 of the University Student Council and chairperson from 2003-2004. She was also a writer for the UPLB Perspective. After graduating from UPLB, Verzosa studied law at the Ateneo de Manila University and then later completed the Dispute Settlement Course in International Economic Law and Policy at the Universitat de Barcelona.

Atty. Verzosa serves as special counsel for intervention at the International Justice Mission and was recently named national communications and media manager at the same institution. (Catherine Bucu,
