Alumni to raise funds for the UP Centennial celebration

Published Jun 2007 in

The UPLB spirit was very much alive in the tripartite meeting that brought together the UPLB Centennial Board, the UPLB Centennial Committee, and a core group of alumni who comprise the Resource Generation Council (RGC) to discuss the proposed activities and mechanisms for resource generation for the UP Centennial Celebration.

The meeting was convened by Chancellor Luis Rey I. Velasco and Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) Director Mimosa C. Ocampo, and was hosted by Mr. Mannie M. Barradas (BS Agriculture 1970) at his residence in Brgy. Santor, Tanauan, Batangas on May 11. Mr. Barradas is a member of the UPLB Centennial Board. The gathering was attended by a mix of 42 alumni representing various associations, current and former UPLB administrators and UPLBAA officers.

The members of the RGC commented on an information kit prototype and an audio-visual presentation (AVP) that will be used for the Centennial Celebration Fund Campaign while the Centennial Committee members gave progress reports on their respective college’s centennial celebration activities. The participants also brainstormed on possible fund raising activities to involve the most number of alumni here and abroad.
