The 38^th Commencement Exercises of the University of the Philippines Los Baños will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the D.L. Umali Freedom Park in front of the D.L. Umali Hall (UPLB Auditorium). Candidates shall assemble at 2:30 p.m. in the parking area of the Student Union Building. The Commencement Exercises will start promptly at 4:00 p.m.

Rehearsals for the Commencement will be held on Friday, April 23 at 4:00 p.m. at the D.L. Umali Freedom Park . The Commencement Program will be distributed during the rehearsals.

Candidates for graduation shall observe strictly the following pointers regarding the academic costume:

1. All candidates should wear the approved cap and gown.

Certificate in Forestry candidates should wear the cap without the tassle.

Ph.D. candidates will have the placing of doctoral hoods in a separate occasion on April 23, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the D.L. Umali Hall. Hoods should be brought to the Office of the Graduate School on or before 12 noon of April 22, 2010.

2. The gowns for the candidates should be of the same cut and material for the same degree.

3. The hemline of the gowns should be at least 12 inches from the ground.

4. The gowns should be worn closed at the front.

5. Black (closed) shoes should be worn with the gowns.

6. Men should wear a tie, preferably, long-sleeved shirts and dark pants.

7. Women should wear street-length dresses.  No collar should be visible outside the women’s gowns.

8. No corsage/brooch should be worn/pinned on the gown. Only the medal for honor graduates should be worn.
