Dr. Oscar Zamora, vice chancellor for instruction, met with officials of the College of Natural Resources and Life Sciences of Pusan National University (PNU-CNRLS) led by its dean, Dr. Hong Sung Kim, on Dec. 7 at the Office of the Chancellor of UPLB.

The meeting was held in relation to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at promoting collaboration between the two universities through the exchange of faculty members, researchers, administrative staff, and students. The two universities can conduct collaborative research projects, lectures and symposia, and exchange of academic information and materials.

The MOU stipulates that "nothing shall diminish the full autonomy of either institution, nor will any constraints be imposed by either upon the other in carrying out the agreement." Moreover, all intellectual properties accomplished under and all exchanges covered by the MOU shall be subject to provisions of the Intellectual Property Rights of the UP System.

Present during the MOU signing were Dr. Domingo Angeles, dean of the College of Agriculture; Dr. Cesar Sevilla, director of the Animal and Dairy Sciences Cluster (ADSC); Dr. Florinia Merca, director of the Office of Institutional Linkages; and Dr. Renato Vega and Dr. Nenita de Castro, researchers at the ADSC.

After the MOU signing, the officials of PNU-CNRLS visited the Institute of Plant Breeding and the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
