UPLB graduates performed well in three different licensure examinations administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). November 2011 board exam results showed that UPLB registered high passing rates with examinees placing in the top ten in licensure examinations for chemical engineers, teachers, and civil engineers.
UPLB ranked first in the list of top performing schools in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (Secondary Teachers). A top performing school should have 50 or more examinees and at least 80 percent passing rate. Examinees from UPLB registered a 96 percent (52 out of 54) passing rate against the national passing rate of 32 percent (13,125 out of 41,729).

For the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination, UPLB got 97 percent (38 out of 39) passing rate against the national passing rate of 34 percent (1,770 out of 5,163), with five making it to the top 10. Magna cum laude graduates Joseph Malicdem Caburnay and Glenn Angelo Endaya Galano placed third at 97 percent. James Pioc Lacia, also a magna cum laude graduate, grabbed the seventh spot at 96 percent. Jose Eguna Pagaran Jr., a cum laude graduate, and Eldrin Costes Quiambao placed eighth at 95 percent.

On the other hand, a UPLB graduate placed second in the Chemical Engineer Licensure Examination. Jomuel Adique Velandres, a summa cum laude graduate of UPLB class of 2011 and a BPI Science awardee, got 82 percent. Examinees from UPLB registered a 71 percent (27 out of 38) passing rate against the national passing rate of 47 percent (301 out of 638).
