| Graduation concert for Class 2011 held |

Before the big day was a night of revelry and camaraderie. The University made sure that the graduating class of 2011 gets a nice send off with a free graduation concert held at Baker Hall on the night of April 25, the eve of the UPLB Commencement Exercises.
The concert, dubbed simply as "Kantahan at Sayawan," was jointly organized by the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and UPLB Alumni Association, Inc. (UPLBAA).
The concert, which has become an annual traditional event for UPLB, featured a raffle contest and special performances from Sandayaw, UPLB Centennial singers, UPLB Street Jazz Dance Company, UPLB Filipiniana Dance Troupe, students from the College of Forestry and Natural Resources and College of Veterinary Medicine as well as selected faculty members. Dr. Mimosa Ocampo, OAR director, gave the opening remarks which formally kicked off the program. Among the notable faculty members who gave special numbers are Ms. Sheila Ramirez who sang beautiful pop ditties and Dr. Vladimir Mariano who played pop classics on piano. Kairos band, a musical group composed of UPLB students with Dr. Erick Vernon Dy of OSA, also played special songs including some original compositions. Meanwhile, Dr. Ocampo and OSA Director Dr. Vivian Gonzales gave surprise numbers to the delight of the crowd. UPLBAA President Simeon Cuyson gave a short inspirational message to the candidates for graduation. "For four years, nagsunog kayo ng kilay. But by tomorrow you will be full-pledged graduates and will be officially members of the UPLBAA. The future that awaits you at this time is considerably more difficult than our generation but I don't have any doubts that you will reach your goals," Mr. Cuyson said. "Whatever career you choose, give it your all."
