At the University's 39th Commencement Exercises on April 26, at the DL Umali Freedom Park, two of the graduates will lead class 2011 with grades qualifying them for summa cum laude honors. They are John Paul B. Bautista, BS Agribusiness Management (GWA - 1.12) and Jomuel A. Velandres, BS Chemincal Engineering (GWA - 1.19).
The class also includes 18 magna cum laude and 132 cum laude graduates.
Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Hilario G. Davide, Jr., will serve as the guest of honor and speaker at the commencement exercises. Davide, an alumnus of the UP College of Law, has a long and distinguished career in public service.
Testimonial and recognition programs will be held on separate schedules by the respective colleges and institutes before the commencement exercises on April 26. Hooding and recognition ceremonies for Masters and Ph.D. candidates will be on April 25 at 7 PM at the DL Umali Hall. (EBV Bernardo)
