Climate change is the concern of all – especially the business sector. Dr. Maria Victoria O. Espaldon, dean of UP Los Baños School of Environmental Science and Management (SESAM), will be discussing the effects of climate change in the business sector on March 4 during the second Laguna Business and Investment Expo (LBIX). LBIX 2010 will be held at Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The forum on climate change aims to accomplish three things: 1. to increase the business sector’s awareness on how climate change affects their industries; 2. to present climate change mitigation and adaptive measures; and 3. to tie up with funding agencies, government units, and researchers from various colleges and universities to strengthen the implementation of existing programs on climate change mitigation and adaptation. With the forum, UPLB SESAM aims to help the business sector reduce, if not completely avoid, the losses brought about by the effects of climate change.
