The College of Public Affairs (CPAf) will celebrate its 12th founding anniversary on Feb. 16, 2010 with a three-part program including a recognition ceremony for outstanding faculty and staff, a book launch and a symposium.

The books that will be launched include the following titles: Managing Climate Risks in the Context of Angat Reservoir, Philippines; Post-disaster Coping Mechanism and the Role of Women and Children: Practices and Interventions; The Social Sciences in Agriculture and Community Development: A Changing Paradigm (A Book of Proceedings); Agricultural Research Prioritization at the Regional Level with Applications in Cagayan Valley, Philippines: A Training Guide; and a Handbook on Climate Change Awareness and Adaptation Planning. There will also be a soft launching of the CPAf Journal.

UP President Dr. Emerlinda R. Roman will deliver a keynote message on "The Changing Role of the University in the Context of the New Charter" during the symposium. CPAf Dean Dr. Agnes Rola will present a paper on "Charting the Direction of CPAf Toward A One-Faculty, One-College Structure." Invited as discussants are National Scientist Dr. Gelia T. Castillo, Dr. Cynthia Rose B. Bautista, Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip, former UP President Dr. Emil Q. Javier and former UPLB Chancellor Dr. Ruben L. Villareal. (CPAf Release)
