• UPLB has entered into an agreement with American Bio-Clinical Laboratories, Inc. that will enable the University Health Service (UHS) to offer more and cheaper rates for diagnostic tests that in the past were only available in laboratories outside the campus. The service agreement making the UHS a collecting agent for American Bio-Clinical Laboratories, Inc. was signed on June 8.

Among the diagnostic tests that can now be facilitated through the UHS are electrolyte determination, liver function tests, thyroid function tests, and Hba1c , a monitoring test for diabetics. Big hospitals and clinics are also known to outsource laboratory tests to this reputable laboratory.

• The UHS would also like to announce the affiliation of more consultant specialists from different fields of medicine and surgery. They are as follows: Dr. MA. Theresa S. De Castro, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics - clinic: Tues 3-6 p.m. (by appointment); Dr. Martin John S. Jarmin III, General Surgery - Clinic: Mon and Wed 10 - 12 nn; Dr. Almira F. Onia, Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine - clinic: Tues and Fri 3-6 pm; and Dr. Eleanor E. Merca, Otorhinolaryngology - clinic: Wed 9 - 11 am. (MCW Zafaralla)
