OSA to hold pre-employment seminar, job fair on June 6-9

Calling the attention of UPLB graduating students and job-seeking alumni!

The Counseling and Testing Division of the Office of Student Affairs (CTD-OSA) will hold the “Pre-Employment Seminar Workshop (PESW)” on June 6 at the Makiling Hall, Student Union Building, after which, the UPLB University Job Fair will follow on June 7-9.

The PESW aims to prepare graduating students and alumni as they join the country’s work force. It also seeks to help them adjust well in the professional world by providing them information, knowledge, skills, and guidance necessary in seeking jobs and putting up an enterprise.

The topics that will be discussed during the seminar-workshop  are career self-assessment, job searching strategies, job interview, psychological test for employment, modern business correspondence, employer-employee relationship, starting a business, and employees’ rights and welfare in the private and government sectors.

The PESW is a major component of the Career Information and Placement Services of CTD-OSA. Last year’s PESW participants rated the seminar as “excellent” and “relevant.” The job fair will showcase career opportunities and job placements in business outfits  and in private industries.

The yearly job fair aims to provide opportunities and venue for direct hiring, recruitment, and job placement through individual interviews and selection and to establish strong linkages with business and corporate entities and the industry. It also gives partner companies the opportunity to conduct company talks and information dissemination about their firms that could help applicants decide on choosing their prospective employers.

Interested participants may register at Room 9 of the Student Union Building, UPLB or may send an email to CTD-OSA at ctd@uplbosa.org. (Erick Vernon Y. Dy)
